Alpha Male is operated by Hafiz Muhammad Zuhaib, using Synapse Stacks as the product and support brand ("Synapse Stacks," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the Alpha Male mobile application, websites, backend services, support channels, and related features (collectively, the "Service").
Contact: contact@synapsestacks.com
Alpha Male is a private self-improvement and recovery app designed to help users reduce or avoid explicit content, masturbation/fapping habits, compulsive sexual behavior patterns, and related relapse cycles. Because of that purpose, information you choose to enter may be sensitive. Please read this policy carefully before using the Service.
1. Summary
- We collect account information, profile settings, recovery progress, check-ins, goals, journals/accountability notes, relapse and urge logs, Shield Mode settings, notification preferences, social posts/replies/reactions, app diagnostics, and support messages.
- Some information may reveal sensitive personal details, including sexual behavior, explicit-content use, urges, emotional state, stress, sleep, spending related to destructive content, and recovery goals.
- We use this information to run the app, calculate streaks and progress, provide reminders, power recovery tools, enable optional social/accountability features, improve reliability, provide support, and protect the Service.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use sensitive recovery data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Alpha Chief, the in-app AI mentor, sends your chat messages and limited account context to our backend and AI infrastructure to generate a response. We do not persist full Alpha Chief chat transcripts as message logs in our database at this time, but we may log usage metadata.
- You can request account deletion in the app or by emailing contact@synapsestacks.com.
2. Who should use Alpha Male
The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your location if higher, to use Alpha Male.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate deletion steps.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account and authentication information
We collect information needed to create and maintain your account, including:
- Account identifier.
- Email address.
- Authentication provider information, such as Sign in with Apple identifiers.
- Session and access tokens handled by our authentication provider.
- Account creation, update, and sign-in metadata.
We do not receive your Apple ID password.
3.2 Profile information
You may provide or generate profile information, including:
- Display name.
- Time zone.
- Goal statement.
- Onboarding completion status.
- Profile photo or avatar URL.
- Avatar source, such as uploaded photo, provider photo, or no avatar.
- Trusted friend phone number, if you choose to save one.
The trusted friend phone number is used to help open your device's SMS app with a prefilled support message when you request help. We do not send that SMS ourselves.
3.3 Recovery, habit, and check-in data
Alpha Male collects information you enter or generate while using recovery features, including:
- Daily check-ins.
- Mood level, urge level, sleep quality, stress level, and notes.
- Whether you consumed explicit content, suggestive content, thirst traps, or sought triggers.
- Whether you masturbated/fapped, edged, or relapsed.
- Money spent on destructive content.
- Time wasted or recovered.
- Discipline scores, risk scores, and risk bands.
- Current streak, best streak, clean days, relapse dates, and unknown days.
- Baseline estimates, including usual days per week lost, minutes per session, money spent per week, savings goals, time value estimates, and reclaimed time/cash calculations.
This data is sensitive. We use it to calculate progress, show analytics, personalize recovery tools, and help you understand patterns.
3.4 Urge protocol, relapse, recovery, and accountability data
When you use urge or relapse recovery tools, we may collect:
- Urge intensity, trigger, context, and notes.
- Protocol start/completion/abandonment status.
- Actions completed during a protocol.
- Relapse source, behavior kind, emotional state, platform context, trigger, money spent, time wasted, and notes.
- Recovery actions, follow-up status, and completion status.
- Accountability messages, user-written reflections, next moves, and archived status.
3.5 Goals, journals, and ledger data
When you use goals, journaling, or ledger features, we may collect:
- Daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
- Goal body text, start/end windows, and archive status.
- Journal-style entries, reflections, victories, accountability notes, and share destinations.
- Metadata linking a shared journal or goal item to Alpha Tribe posts.
3.6 Alpha Tribe and social data
If you use Alpha Tribe or other social/accountability features, we may collect and display:
- Posts and replies you create.
- Likes/reactions.
- Post categories, source, timestamps, and status.
- Whether you post with your profile identity or anonymously.
- Display name and avatar snapshot for profile-mode posts.
- Links between posts and goals, journals, urge protocols, or relapse logs where applicable.
Posts and replies may be visible to other authenticated users depending on the feature. Anonymous posting hides your profile display name and avatar from other users, but we still store account-level records so we can operate, secure, moderate, and enforce the Service.
3.7 Alpha Chief AI mentor data
When you use Alpha Chief, we process:
- Messages you send during the current chat session.
- Recent local chat context needed to continue the conversation.
- Limited app context, such as entry point, urge intensity band, recent signals, streak/risk summaries, and profile context.
- Response metadata, such as model identifier, route lane, token counts, estimated cost, finish reason, message count, session ID, and error/debug metadata.
At this time, Alpha Chief chat messages are not persisted by us as full chat-history records in our database. However, your messages are transmitted to our backend and AI infrastructure to generate responses. We may retain non-message metadata in analytics events to monitor cost, reliability, safety routing, and abuse.
3.8 Shield Mode and device-control data
Shield Mode is designed to add friction against selected apps or adult websites. Depending on platform and permissions, we may process:
- Whether Shield Mode is enabled.
- Whether app blocking or website blocking is enabled.
- Disable-delay preference.
- Native setup status, such as active, inactive, permission revoked, unsupported, or error.
- Ruleset/version status and sync timestamps.
On iOS, Shield Mode uses Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks when available. The selected app, category, and web-domain tokens are stored locally on your device using Apple's APIs/UserDefaults and applied through iOS managed settings. Our server stores Shield Mode preference/status information, not the readable names of every selected app or website.
On Android, Shield Mode may use Accessibility permission to detect when a selected blocked app comes to the foreground, and VPN permission to route DNS lookups through a local DNS filtering service that forwards DNS requests to Cloudflare Family DNS (1.1.1.3). Android selected package names and VPN running status are stored locally on your device. We do not use Accessibility to read messages, passwords, form fields, or screen content.
You can turn Shield Mode off in the app or revoke permissions in your device settings.
3.9 Notifications and device information
If you enable reminders, we may process:
- Notification preferences.
- Scheduled notification metadata.
- Notification open/dismiss/cancel/failure status.
- Push token, platform, device name, app version, time zone, and last-seen timestamp if push notification registration is used.
At this stage, the core local reminders are Daily Pledge and Daily check-in. Some notification records may also support progress updates or future features.
3.10 Photos and media
If you choose a profile photo, we request photo-library access from your device. We use the selected image to create or update your profile avatar. We do not scan your photo library.
3.11 Support and feedback
If you contact us at contact@synapsestacks.com or through an in-app mail flow, we may receive:
- Your email address.
- Message subject and body.
- Screenshots or attachments you choose to include.
- App version, device/platform, and diagnostic context if included by the app or by you.
3.12 Technical, analytics, and security data
We may collect:
- App events and feature usage events.
- Error, performance, and reliability data.
- API request metadata.
- Device platform, app version, time zone, and session identifiers.
- Abuse, fraud, moderation, or security signals.
We try to avoid storing sensitive free-text recovery content in analytics events unless needed to provide a user-facing feature or investigate a support/security issue.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
- Provide daily check-ins, streaks, progress analytics, goals, journals, urge protocols, relapse recovery tools, reminders, Shield Mode, Alpha Chief, and Alpha Tribe.
- Calculate discipline scores, risk bands, reclaimed time, cash saved, and progress summaries.
- Open local device actions that you request, such as SMS to a trusted friend.
- Send or schedule reminders and account/service messages.
- Provide support and respond to feedback.
- Moderate social content and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, technical issues, and policy violations.
- Improve app reliability, quality, safety, and user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use sensitive recovery data for third-party advertising.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose information in the following ways:
5.1 Service providers
We use service providers to operate the Service. These providers may process information on our behalf, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend infrastructure.
- Vercel for hosting backend/web services and legal/support pages.
- Vercel AI Gateway and AI model providers, including OpenAI, Alibaba/Qwen, Google, or other configured providers, to generate Alpha Chief responses.
- Apple services, including Sign in with Apple, TestFlight/App Store, in-app purchase infrastructure if enabled, FamilyControls/ManagedSettings, notifications, and other platform services.
- Cloudflare Family DNS for Android Shield Mode DNS filtering when Android website blocking is enabled.
- Email providers and mail clients used to send, receive, or process support messages.
- Payment/subscription infrastructure if paid subscriptions are enabled in the future. We do not collect payment card numbers; App Store payment processing is handled by Apple.
These providers may process data according to their own terms and privacy practices. We choose providers that are commonly used for app infrastructure and require them to protect information in ways appropriate to their role.
5.2 Other users
If you post, reply, react, or share content in Alpha Tribe or other social/accountability features, that content and related profile/anonymous presentation information may be visible to other authenticated users.
Do not post information you do not want other users to see.
5.3 Legal, safety, and rights protection
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law, legal process, or government requests.
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Hafiz Muhammad Zuhaib, Synapse Stacks, or others.
- Investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or Terms violations.
- Enforce our agreements.
5.4 Business transfers
If the Service, Synapse Stacks brand, or related assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or another policy disclosed to you.
6. AI processing
Alpha Chief is an AI-assisted coaching feature. When you use it:
- Your messages and relevant app context are sent to our backend.
- Our backend may send the content to AI infrastructure and model providers to generate a response.
- The AI response may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation.
- Alpha Chief is not a therapist, doctor, emergency service, legal adviser, or financial adviser.
- If you are in immediate danger, may harm yourself or someone else, or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis hotline.
We do not intentionally use your private recovery content to train third-party advertising systems. AI providers process data to provide the AI feature and may retain or process data as described in their terms and privacy practices.
7. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect the Service, and maintain appropriate business records.
Typical retention practices:
- Account, profile, recovery, goals, check-in, streak, relapse, urge, Shield Mode, notification, and analytics records are kept while your account is active.
- Social posts/replies may remain while the related community feature exists, unless deleted, hidden, anonymized, or removed through moderation or account deletion.
- Support emails may be retained while needed to respond to you and maintain support/security records.
- Backups and logs may retain copies for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
- Purchase, fraud, tax, or legal records may be retained as required by law or platform rules if paid features are enabled.
8. Account deletion and returning users
You may request account deletion in the app or by contacting contact@synapsestacks.com.
When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize account-linked personal information from active systems, including profile data, private recovery records, check-ins, goals, journals/accountability notes, notification records, Shield Mode server preferences, and uploaded avatar records, unless retention is required or permitted for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, dispute-resolution, or accounting reasons.
For shared Alpha Tribe content, we may delete, hide, or anonymize posts/replies and remove profile identifiers. Some thread metadata may be retained where needed to preserve community integrity, enforce rules, or maintain moderation records.
We may retain a minimal deletion or security audit record, such as a timestamp and a non-reversible or keyed hash of your normalized email address or provider identifier. This is used only to honor deletion, prevent abuse, protect the Service, and recognize that an account tied to the identifier previously requested deletion. It is not used to restore your old profile, journals, relapse logs, check-ins, or recovery history. If you return after deletion, you should expect to start with a new account unless we explicitly offer a grace-window restoration flow.
Deletion from backups and logs may take additional time, but deleted data is not used for normal app operation after deletion is processed.
9. Your choices and controls
Depending on the feature, you can:
- Update your profile name, time zone, trusted friend number, and avatar.
- Turn reminders on or off in Settings or device notification settings.
- Turn Shield Mode on/off and revoke platform permissions.
- Delete or archive certain goals, notes, or accountability records where the app provides controls.
- Choose whether to post in Alpha Tribe with profile identity or anonymous identity.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or assistance.
Some requests may require identity verification.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authentication, HTTPS/TLS in transit, database access controls, row-level security for user-owned records, and platform security controls.
No system is perfectly secure. Because Alpha Male may contain sensitive recovery data, you should protect your device, use strong authentication, and avoid sharing your account.
11. International data transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms for international processing and transfer.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to appeal certain decisions or lodge a complaint with a regulator.
To make a request, contact contact@synapsestacks.com.
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in U.S. state privacy laws.
13. Health, medical, and emergency disclaimer
Alpha Male is a self-improvement and recovery-support tool. It is not a medical device, healthcare provider, therapy service, crisis service, or emergency service. The Service does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
If you need medical, mental health, addiction, or crisis support, contact a qualified professional or emergency service.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
